Mary Weaver is an Australian freelance writer/editor living in Shanghai. After stints in Sydney, London and Singapore, she now calls China home. Obsessed with pop culture, she consumes 20 magazines for breakfast, 50 blogs for lunch and 400 TV shows for dinner. Equally obsessed with travel, she most recently edited an inflight magazine.

While living in Singapore, Mary worked as Editor of Tiger Tales, the inflight magazine for Tiger Airways. It has an estimated readership of one million readers per issue. Her role involved commissioning writers, photographers and sub-editors, penning lifestyle and travel pieces and overseeing the design and direction of the magazine. She also wrote restaurant reviews for Time Out Singapore, edited Vision, the entertainment inflight magazine for Thai Airways, and sub-edited other inflight titles such as Fah Thai (Bangkok Airways), Jetstar Asia and spiceroute (SpiceJet).  

She spent six years in Sydney at Australian Reader’s Digest as Associate Editor and two years in London, working for European Business Forum, a business/academic journal. Prior to that, she spent two years co-ordinating promotional activity for Triple M radio station in her hometown of Brisbane. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Communication) from Griffith University.
